Jim Kesting and Douglas Gaines founded Madison County Wood Products more than 40 years ago, dually guiding the company’s success and propelling a small family-owned business to the top of the industry. Kesting and Gaines now pass the torch of leadership to a new generation–their sons, Paul Gaines and Bryan Kesting.

Paul and Bryan oversee the daily operations of Madison County Wood Products, with each named as a co-president of the company. Paul oversees the Fredericktown and Clifton Hill locations, managing daily operations and focusing on growing the business. Bryan leads the Sales Office in Chesterfield, Mo., directing profitability, sales goals, and new business growth. Both leaders preserve and adhere to the company’s mission of God as the focus for all endeavors.

Paul Gaines previously served as the Vice President of Operations for Madison County Wood Products. Paul serves as a committee member on the Amber Gaines Memorial Golf Tournament. He also served as the President of the Missouri Forest Products Association from 2021 to 2023.

Before stepping into the role of co-president, Bryan Kesting served as the Vice President of Sales. Bryan serves as a co-chair of the Amber Gaines Memorial Golf Tournament and is a member of the Board of Directors for the National Wooden Pallet and Container Association.

Founders Jim and Doug now serve on the Board of Directors for Madison County Wood Products, providing guidance on crucial company decisions, offering mentorship, and acting as key advisors.
